What is Treatment Like?
Opalescence Treswhite® is a teeth whitening system that is used in the patient’s own home, on their schedules. Most professional at-home teeth whitening treatments require that the patient schedule a dental visit so that molds can be taken of the teeth that will be used as a model for custom whitening trays. Opalescence Treswhite® makes the teeth whitening process even easier because the patient purchases pre-made trays. This significantly cuts back on the amount of time that the patient needs to spend in the dental office, which makes this an ideal solution for even those with the busiest schedules.
Once the patient has their whitening trays, they will wear them once a day for an extended period of time. Depending on the degree of whitening the patient is looking to achieve, the whitening trays may be used for as little as one week or up to four weeks. Similarly, the amount of time the trays are worn each day will vary for each patient, depending on their unique cosmetic needs. Typically, the trays are worn for 30-60 minutes at a time. Each Opalescence Treswhite® tray comes pre-filled with a whitening gel that contains 10% hydrogen peroxide. The tray is simply placed over the teeth and worn for the determined amount of time. After removing the trays, patients should brush their teeth to remove any excess gel.
